Educational Initiatives
In partnership with local school districts, Girl Scouts Western Pennsylvania (GSWPA) offers girls in all grades the opportunity to enhance their academic experience, improve scholastic performance, and achieve new goals through the Girl Scout Leadership Experience and nationally developed, girl-centered resources of Girl Scouts of the USA.
Backed by studies conducted by the Girl Scout Research Institute (GSRI), GSWPA combines new data with nearly 100 years of experience —meeting Pennsylvania educational standards for all Educational
Initiative programs offered in areas of:
Science, Technology, Engineering and Math
Girls who participate in our Educational Initiative series may also attend events, summer camp, earn Girl Scout awards and be eligible for scholarships or special recognitions available through the Girl Scout program.
