Ladies,

I wanted to take a few minutes to thank you for your generous gift…hundreds of boxes of Girl Scout Cookies. The soldiers of our brigade fly all the helicopters in southern Afghanistan in support of other brave troops. From the time we arrived until now, we have been inundated with cookies from your Brownie troop and the letters of encouragement that came with them.

Girl Scout Cookies are an icon of American culture. To have them around for us for months – and to enjoy them for free whenever we chose to – makes us feel like a part of home is here with us everyday.

Thank you!

Thank you for the cookies. I am on my second box. I have the one that says, "roses are red violets are blue. Enjoy these cookies as a special thank you."

They came as a complete surprise and everyone is enjoying them. Appreciate your patriotism and you remembering people who are away from home.

Thank You!

To our young patriots:

I just want to take the opportunity to thank you for the cookies you sent us here in Afghanistan. The cookies are delicious and put a smile on my face; however, it is more important to know that complete strangers are willing to support us just because we are Soldiers in the United States Army. The message on the box reads: "Roses are red violets are blue enjoy these cookies as a special thank you! Brownie Troop 150, Plum, PA." Thank You. You made my day.

Dear Brownie 55150,

I would like to take the time to thank you for sending cookies down to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. As a Marine stationed here it was nice to get something that reminded me of home. I'd also like to thank you for showing your support to us and the cards you sent with the cookies were very nice. I can't speak for everyone but I'm sure they will all enjoy the cookies as well.

Thanks again,

Good Afternoon!

My name is 2LT Hamilton from 159 CAB, 101st Airborne Division. I was emailing you to thank you for the wonderful cookies you sent our unit. All the soldiers and officers are very grateful for your donation, and for your motivation messages on the boxes. My sister received her Gold when she was in Girl Scouts, and I received my Eagle Scout when I was in Boy Scout Troop 69 in Arlington, Texas. How lucky are we to have wonderful programs like the Girl Scouts and Boy Scout Troops of America. Keep us in your thoughts and prayers, and we will be home before you know it. From ALL of us at 159 CAB, thank you and God bless.
V/r,
2LT Michael James Hamilton

Hello there,

My name is HN Adam J. Racowsky. I am the Hospital Corpsman (medic) attached to the Marine Corps Security Forces here in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. I just wanted to take the time to write a quick email and let all of you know over there in troop 150 that we received the delicious cookies you sent us and are very appreciative. It makes all of us feel great to have the support of people like you back home. My favorite kind are the caramel cookies, by the way. Thank you!

HN Racowsky, Adam J.

Thank you very much for thinking of our marines and I had spoke to your brother about this in the past so I was expecting them at some point. What a better surprise than to receive our favorite cookies. Nine (9) days is a very fast turnaround for boxes of that size so it's apparent our postal system is on the ball this week. Again thank you and let the kids know how much their marines appreciate the cookies and the thought!
