Get Outdoors Challenge

The first-ever GSWPA Get Outdoors Challenge this summer was a big hit, with more than 1,200 girls earning the girl-designed patch.

Now, there’s a winter edition of this challenge to inspire you to get outdoors all season long!

From November 1 – March 31, complete as many activities as possible from the checklist, then submit your entry by April 15. There are 67 activities to choose from, including ice skating, sledding, feeding birds, and, of course, making snow angels!

Complete the required amount of activities for your grade level to earn your Get Outdoors Challenge patch or your winter leaf if you have already earned the main patch through the summer challenge. 

So grab the list and have a blast outdoors this winter!

Brownie: 25
Junior: 30
Cadette: 35
Senior: 40
Ambassador: 45
Adults: 45

Challenge Rules and Guidelines

1. The challenge is open to current girl members, troop leaders and assistant leaders of GSWPA only. Families may participate in activities, but are not eligible for certificates and patches.

2. Girls may only submit one final checklist. Entries must be submitted by April 15.

3. Girls must complete the required number of activities for their grade level to earn the patch. 

4. Girls are only eligible to earn one patch. Girls can earn a winter leaf if they have already earned the main patch through the summer challenge.

5. Girls may complete activities as a troop/group, but each girl should only count activities that she took part in.

6. Girls and adults must follow Safety Activity Checkpoints for all activities.
