Healthy Happens in Greentree

Project Date: 02/09/2014
My projected consisted of a women's health fair in Greentree. In order to prepare for the day, I had to begin by creating fliers in order to ask health related businesses to attend. I then had to create and distribute fliers to advertise my event. I also chose to advertise through Facebook and in local newspapers. I then went to grocery stores and asked for healthy snacks in order to serve at my event. I collected door prizes to raffle off to the women who attend. I got decorations such as balloons, table cloths, signs, and a schedule of the day. I was given complete access to my entire borough building to host the event. When the day came, I felt confident and prepared with many younger girl scout troops attending to help me. Twenty five local vendors attended from various health related businesses, and the areas geared towards physical fitness gave twenty minute demonstrations on rotation. Every vendor was given a table to display information,
and snacks and water were provided. I also collected donation of feminine hygiene products for the Salvation Army at the door. The day was a tremendous success! My event will occur annually thanks to the Greentree Women's Civic Club who sponsored my event this year!
