Buddies For Beth

Project Date: 6/2/2013

I held a cancer awareness walk on June 2, 2013 it started at Dave\'s Dollar Plus in Tionesta and was about 2.5 miles long. I also gave information about cancer at the Tionesta Library and gave out different types of food that are proven to help prevent types of cancer. I presented a speech on different cancers. I created luminaries, and directed people to help make them as well. These metal luminaries were a free gesture of kindness to anybody to have. They were in honor or memory of a loved one whom had been affected by cancer. This walk was a non-profit walk for anyone on the community to attend.

Future Plans

The benefits my project provided for the community were informing people about the hardships of cancer, and how to help lower their risks of getting cancer. Also I helped provide the community with happiness by giving them a luminary in honor of themselves or their loved ones. My future plans are to attend college and study criminology.
