Full-time Positions
Director, Membership & Marketing
Reports to: Regional Vice President
Location: Wexford Office
General Statement of Duties: responsible for the development and implementation of plans to increase and retain girl and adult membership
Essential Functions:
- Work collaboratively with key members of management to ensure implementations of the comprehensive business strategy, with special focus on the market-driven membership marketing plan, membership cultivation and extension;
- Oversee teams of staff that develop, retain and increase sustainable membership;
- Develop, implement and extend Girl Scouting in the community through presentations, collaborative efforts and networking;
- Develop and implement short-term contingency strategies in areas of responsibility;
- Serve as the primary communications conduit to executive leadership and key business partners on membership trends and issues;
- Ensure Girl Scout program is accessible throughout the jurisdiction and across demographic groups;
Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications or related field; candidate must be self-motivated and self-disciplined, have strong marketing and people skills, have excellent organization and communication skills, and the ability to work evenings and weekends; must have valid transportation and be able to travel; EOE
Program Specialist
Reports to: Director, Program
Location: Wexford; the person in this position will have multiple county responsibility and must be able to travel throughout all of Western PA
General Statement of Duties:
- Responsible for planning and delivering programs for girls in non-traditional settings
- Develop and implement short-term programs, customized to meet the needs and interests of girls in non-traditional settings, including, but not limited to: transitional housing, shelters, health-care facilities, group homes or youth detention centers;
- Plan and manage program implementation to include prioritization, project planning, budget management, promotion, material production, communication, contract management, venue selection, facility set up and related logistics;
Essential Functions:
Bachelor's degree in related field preferred, minimum of 2 years proven, professional or significant volunteer work experience with program planning and implementation; minimum of 2 years working experience with children ages 5-17; experience working with emotional, physical or developmental challenges a plus; candidate must be self-motivated and self-disciplined, have strong marketing and people skills, have excellent organization and communication skills, and the ability to work evenings and weekends; must have valid transportation and be able to travel; clearances required; EOE.
Part-Time Positions
MAINTENANCE LABORER – part-time, Camp Redwing, Renfrew, Butler County; responsible for the on-going general maintenance and care of all buildings, equipment, program facilities and grounds of the camp; working knowledge of carpentry, electrical and plumbing; ability to operate equipment such as mowers, tractors, trucks, log splitter and hand tools; must have valid driver’s license; clearances required; flexible schedule, weekends required; $9 per hour.
LEADERSHIP FACILITATOR – responsible for delivering and overseeing all aspects of the assigned progressive Girl Scout leadership program; program delivery occurs but is not limited to: In-School, After school, Summer, Weekends, and Evenings; hours are depending on the year of the program; applicants must have extensive experience: working with large groups of at risk girls in grades 6-12, an understanding of girls needs; working with girls to design and deliver programming that is girl led and encompasses empowering activities that are relevant to the girl’s lives; coordinating and implementing leadership activities and outings that may include but are not limited to camping retreats, cultural outings and college tours; scheduling guest speakers relevant to girl topics; working closely with children, parents, school liaison and agencies, training and overseeing volunteers which may include but is not limited to parents & university/college students; overseeing financial transactions and budgets; reliable personal transportation & valid drivers license and insurance a must; flexible schedule between the hours of 7 a.m. – 8p.m. Monday –Friday and open weekends is a must; must have current Child Abuse Clearance, Criminal Clearances and FBI clearances and pass GSWPA screening; excellent communication skills.
PROGRAM INSTRUCTORS – multiple positions available located throughout our council jurisdiction to deliver Girl Scout written curriculum to girls who participate in: in-school, after school, evenings and/or weekend programs. Hours typically range from 20-30 hours per week but vary depending upon available work and program partners’ location and schedule; applicants must have previous experience working with large groups of children and a desire to make a difference in girls’ lives; written curriculum and training provided; will work closely with children, parents and agencies; reliable personal transportation, valid drivers license and insurance are a must; flexible schedule between the hours of 7 a.m. – 6 p.m. Monday-Friday is a must; ability to deliver and participate in an active physical programming; must have current Child Abuse, Criminal Clearances and FBI clearances and pass GSWPA screening; excellent communication skills; $10-$12 per hour; a minimum of a high school diploma, college degree preferred or equivalent experience in a related field.
