Girl Scouts Western Pennsylvania will offer the Go Geo! program Saturday, August 8 through Wednesday, August 12, 2009 at Camp Roy Weller in Bruceton Mills, WV. This GSUSA grant-funded program is offered free of charge to girls in grades 6-10 who reside in Westmoreland County.

Dairy Queen and Girl Scouts – The Blizzard is Back!
Girl Scout Appreciation Week is part of a two-month, licensed promotion with Dairy Queen that includes the introduction of the new Girl Scouts Tagalongs® Peanut Butter Patties Blizzard Treat as the July Blizzard of the Month and the return of the Girl Scouts Thin Mint Cookie Blizzard in August.
GSWPA Takes H1N1 Influenza Precautions
As Girl Scout camp programs are in full gear, questions regarding H1N1 Influenza (Swine Flu) can be expected to increase. Girl Scouts Western Pennsylvania (GSWPA) is monitoring the situation closely and taking appropriate steps based on guidelines established by the local health department and the Center for Disease Control (CDC). The safety of girls is the top priority of the council. GSWPA is taking the necessary steps to ensure camper’s health and welfare.
Girl Scouts Western Pennsylvania Inaugural Golf Tournament
Girl Scouts Western Pennsylvania will hold its inaugural golf tournament on Thursday, July 30, 2009 at Arnold Palmer’s Latrobe Country Club. The tournament will consist of an 18-hole scramble with shotgun start at 1 p.m. followed promptly by dinner and a silent auction. All proceeds support the girl program opportunities of Girl Scouts Western Pennsylvania.
Girl Scout Daisy Family Reading Project
Girl Scouts Western Pennsylvania is partnering with families in the region to give girls the leading edge in school and with their peers through the “Follow the Reader” family reading project.
Girl Scouts Advocacy Network / 100th Anniversary Coin
Over 5,000 teens, volunteers, staff, alumnae and friends have joined the Girl Scouts Advocacy Network to champion legislation and educate policy makers about issues affecting girls.
GSWPA’s Camps Participate in the Summer Food Service Program
Camp Conshatawba, Camp Elliott, Camp Hawthorne Ridge, Camp Redwing, Camp Skymeadow and Camp Singing Hills will participate in the Summer Food Service Program. Meals will be provided to all eligible girls, free of charge.
