Camp Conshatawba, Camp Elliott, Camp Hawthorne Ridge, Camp Redwing, Camp Skymeadow and Camp Singing Hills will participate in the Summer Food Service Program. Meals will be provided to all eligible girls, free of charge.
Girls in grades 7-12 are invited to Camp Elliott in Volant, PA to team up with members of the United States Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines and Coast Guard. Sponsored by Girl Scouts Western Pennsylvania, the two full days of this special “boot camp” are designed to build courage, confidence and character.
On April 18, 2009 Girl Scouts Western Pennsylvania held their second Annual Meeting at the Syria Shrine in Cheswick, PA. Delegates, board members, volunteers, leaders and girls gathered to review the Leadership and Stewardship Report, share important achievements of girls and volunteers and elect new board members.

There is a disease that is devastating hibernating bat colonies in this region. Not much is known about this except the presence of a white fungus on the muzzle and wing membrane of infected bats. This is why it is called "White Nose Syndrome" (WNS). It is suspected that WNS is transmitted from one habernacle to another from both bat to bat, and cave to human to bat.

Girl Scouts Western Pennsylvania (GSWPA) will conduct Early Bird/Spring Registration this year through June 30, 2009. Early Bird/Spring Registration ensures a girl’s place in the troop and helps leaders plan for the upcoming year.
