Celebrate National Girl Scout Cookie Weekend, Feb. 7-8
National Girl Scout Cookie Weekend on February 7 and 8 celebrates the world’s largest girl-led business and the five essential skills girls learn by selling Girl Scout cookies.
The five skills are goal setting, decision making, money management, business ethics and people skills.
The Girl Scout Cookie Program is a $770 million business led by girls.
Cookie fans and girls can join fun events nationwide and online to support the Girl Scout Cookie Program, which helps bring Girl Scouting to local communities in nearly every zip code.

Cookies are coming!
Girl Scouts from urban schools will be selling cookies at locations in Pittsburgh and Erie to celebrate National Girl Scout Cookie Weekend on Friday, February 7 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. (Erie) or 2 p.m. (Pittsburgh)
Pittsburgh locations include:
- All Gateway Center (1-4)
- Fifth Avenue Place
- YWCA Corporate Office
- Point Park University
- Omni William Penn
- City Centre Tower
- 200 PPG Place
Proceeds from this sale will support Girl Scouts from urban middle schools who are enrolled in BFF (Be a Friend First), a Girl Scouts program that gives girls valuable skills to develop healthy relationships, prevent bullying behavior, and become peacemakers in their schools and communities.
This event will provide the resources they need to be change agents within their schools as well as help them attend a leadership camp this summer.
In Erie, locations include Renaissance Center, Downtown YMCA, Knowledge Park and the Experience Children’s Museum.
This event is a culmination of an after-school financial literacy program in which 4th & 5th grade Girl Scouts will run their own business (i.e. cookie booth) putting the their skills into practice and building confidence.
This extension of the annual Girl Scouts Cookie Program is part of GSWPA’s efforts to engage girls from urban communities who have not previously been served by Girl Scouts.
PPG Industries, Inc. is presenting partner for the 2014 National Girl Scout Cookie Weekend events in Pittsburgh and Erie.
Say a sweet "thank you" to the U.S. military
Girl Scouts throughout GSWPA will celebrate the power of Girl Scout Cookies by participating in Operation: Sweet Appreciation. Through this Gift of Caring program, thousands of boxes of Girl Scout Cookies will be sent directly from our baker to men and women serving our country in the U.S. Military.
