Leaders, parents, grandparents, neighbors, community partners—ANYONE can nominate a troop for this coveted honor!

Troop 30418 was named the 2013 Troop of Distinction.

It’s easy! Just visit to nominate a troop today.

The Troop of Distinction will be honored at the annual Awards of Distinction luncheon on Thursday, August 6, 2014 at the Bayfront Convention Center in Erie.

Nominations are open through April 17.

Nominees for the Troop of Distinction Award must meet each of the following criteria:

  • Represent the ideals inherent in Girl Scouting through their participation in and commitment to:
  • Community Service
  • Personal Development/Leadership
  • Academics
  • Demonstrate integrity and leadership characteristics
  • Emulate a healthy life style for themselves and others


  • Open to all Girl Scout troops registered in Girl Scouts Western Pennsylvania
  • No entry fee
  • Entries must be submitted online using the official online entry form.
  • Entries must be submitted by 11:59 PM April 17, 2014

Troops from Cameron, Crawford, Elk, Erie, Forest, Lawrence, McKean, Mercer, Potter, Venango and Warren counties are encouraged to participate.

The public will have an opportunity to vote for the Troop of Distinction from April 18 – May 15, 2014.
