Pittsburgh, PA – Girl Scouts Western Pennsylvania’s Alumnae Association will partner with Getting to the Point, Inc, Pittsburgh’s premier independent relocation service, to sponsor the Mentor-For-A-Day Job Shadowing program. This one-day program matches Girl Scout Alumna, in college or the early stages of their professional career, with a mentor who is actively engaged in a career or field of a similar capacity.

The Mentor-For-A-Day Job Shadowing program is an opportunity for young women to explore potential careers and garner advice and recommendations from successful mentors celebrating their own life experiences. The program concludes with a reception where both mentors and mentees are invited to share thoughts and reflect upon their day.

Getting to the Point co-founder, and GSWPA Board Member, Dr. Ellen Roth feels that “mentoring is one of the most powerful ways through which we can inspire, develop and nurture young women to become future leaders.”

This year’s Mentor-For-A-Day Job Shadowing program will be held on Thursday, April 2, 2009.
