GSWPA Participates in PittsburghGives Match Day
Pittsburgh, PA: On Wednesday, October 28, 2009 Girl Scouts Western Pennsylvania (GSWPA) will be one of approximately 250 non-profits in Allegheny County chosen by the Pittsburgh Foundation to benefit from the PittsburghGives Match Day.
Beginning at 10 a.m., donors can designate GSWPA as their nonprofit choice at https://pittsburghgives.guidestar.org. With a $50 or more contribution made by credit card to GSWPA, the Pittsburgh Foundation will match 50 cents to the dollar up to a maximum of $2,500 per individual ($1,250 in match money), until funds are depleted or October 29 at 12 p.m.
Only contributions given during this time through the site will be matched. Credit card gifts will be matched to the value of actual donations, minus the processing fee. Be sure to create your login information before Match Day so that you can immediately login on October 28. The Pittsburgh Foundation expects the match funds to be exhausted quickly.
Funds donated through the site to GSWPA will be used for operating support. In addition to the financial support, PittsburghGives will create awareness of GSWPA’s programs, allowing donors to know more about the charitable investment they care about. PittsburghGives will also enable GSWPA to share information to help recruit volunteers, girl members and alumnae.
