GSWPA Trainers’ Conference Welcomes Eleanor Schano

Girl Scouts Western Pennsylvania is providing a day of enrichments and enlightenments to its volunteer council trainers on Saturday, April 24, 2010 at Camp Skymeadow from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Pre and post-conference lodging and activities will also be available.

Attendees can take advantage of workshops that include “Diversity in Training”, “Presentation Skills”, “Girl Scout History and Preservation” -- to name a few, and will also learn about “Volunteer Trends in the 21st Century”.

Keynote speaker, Eleanor Shano, ground-breaking broadcaster, author, respected community leader and beloved Pittsburgh personality, is scheduled to present The Self-Empowered Woman. In this fascinating and enlightening keynote address on Saturday afternoon, Eleanor offers tactics, practical guidance, and loads of motivation so that guests can pursue and attain their personal and professional goals such as:

  • How to create their future - one day at a time.
  • How to accept change - and make wise choices.
  • How to be proactive, not reactive.
  • How to stay Fit and Fine over Fifty.
  • How to tap into the natural power of their femininity.

Participants will also be available to purchase Ms. Shano’s book, Riding the (Air) Waves.

Costs include:
$15 - Saturday conference only
$20 - Friday evening with overnight accommodations at camp to Saturday conference
$30 - Friday through Sunday, including Saturday conference and overnight accommodations.

Invitations will be mailed to all active Girl Scout trainers and facilitators. Reservations are due Thursday, April 15 (check made payable to GSWPA).
