Girl Scouts Western Pennsylvania honors Burbules and United Way

Erie, PA - Girl Scouts Western Pennsylvania’s Awards of Distinction Luncheon will be held on Thursday, August 26, 2010 from 12 - 1:30 p.m. at the Bayfront Convention Center.

Rosanne Cheeseman, CEO and president of the Times Publishing Company, Publisher of the Erie Times News, will serve as the honorary event chair. Cheeseman is an avid supporter of the Girl Scouts and is actively involved organizations in the Erie community.

Debbie Burbules, president of Hamot Women’s Hospital and senior vice president of Outpatient Services, will be honored as the 2010 Woman of Distinction. Burbules, a strong leader in the Erie community, actively serves on several boards. A former Girl Scout, she believes in Girl Scouting and the confidence and leadership skills it instills in young women.

This year the United Way of Erie County will be honored as the Corporation of Distinction. The United Way was chosen because of their support of Girl Scouting in Erie, as well as their strong leadership through the Erie Together Program.
