Girl Scout Volunteer Recognition Week
Girl Scout Volunteer Recognition Week is April 10-17, and we need your help to thank the special Girl Scout volunteers who take the time to help our girls become the leaders of tomorrow!
Here are just a few suggestions for ways you can celebrate your Service Unit Manager, Service Unit Team and Troop Volunteers:
- Nominate someone for a Volunteer Recognition Award.
- Create a slide show of your troop-in-action to share with your troop volunteers and Service Unit Manager or Team via email, at your troop meeting or on a CD. Nothing says “thank you” better than sharing success!
- Have your girls create thank you cards for your troop volunteers and/or service unit leadership members.
- Post a “thank you” on Facebook, Twitter or your service unit website.
Volunteer Appreciation Week is set aside especially for our valuable Girl Scout volunteers. It is a time for Girl Scouts to pay tribute to all of the volunteers who work in so many ways on behalf of girls and help girls make the world a better place.
The week builds up to Girl Scout Leader’s Day—a special day to honor all Girl Scout volunteers—on April 22. We encourage you to celebrate by thanking the leaders and mentors who work with the girls in your troop or area, and by letting volunteers know that all of the wonderful things the girls accomplish would not happen without them!
