Camp Lend-A-Hand Resident Camp Sessions Canceled

Girls registered for Resident Camp sessions at Camp Lend-A-Hand this summer have been notified that Resident Camp sessions have been canceled. They are being placed into a variety of alternative camps and camp sessions at Girl Scouts Western Pennsylvania’s owned and operated Camp Redwing, Camp Elliott and Camp Conshatawba. This decision was made after extensive pool repairs were identified at the Crawford County facility.

“Knowing that our girls consider swimming to be a favorite camp activity,” said CEO, Pat Burkart, “We do not want to compromise the quality of the Girl Scout camp experience to our girls.” In addition, all girls who were awarded financial aid to attend Camp Lend-A-Hand will not have to reapply for any alternative camp.

Camp Lend-A-Hand will be available for troop camping during the summer months by Girl Scouts throughout the 27-county service area. Girl Scouts Western Pennsylvania also has other camps that offer troop camping, they include: Camp Birdsall Edey, Curry Creek Program Center, Camp Hawthorne Ridge, Resting Waters Program Center, Camp Wright-O-Way, Camp Roy Weller, Camp Timberlake, Camp Trefoil Trails, and the Yough Girl Scout Campus.

The council also offers Core Camp Programs at Singing Hills and Skymeadow camps, as well as a variety of Day Camp adventures during the summer months. All of these opportunities are listed in the council publications section of the website.
