Girl Scouts Collect More Than 1600 Pounds of Clothing in Summer Clothing Drive

Sep 15, 2010 Posted in Newsroom, Press Releases

Girl Scouts Western Pennsylvania (GSWPA) and Goodwill Industries joined forces to conduct a summer-long clothing drive at Camp Conshatawba, Camp Redwing, Camp Singing Hills and Camp Skymeadow. Girl Scouts were encouraged to collect gently used clothing from family and friends, package the items and bring the donations to camp.

Goodwill Industries provided bins for contributions, resulting in the collection of more than 1600 pounds of clothing throughout the summer.

This combined effort of Girl Scouts and Goodwill exemplifies the organizations’ commitment to be at the forefront of environmental sustainability, leading communities in using resources wisely. Donating to Goodwill also helps the environment by recycling items that may otherwise end up in a landfill.
