CALL FOR NOMINATIONS: 2011 Awards of Distinction
Pittsburgh, PA - What Woman or Girl has Made a Difference in Your Community? Girl Scouts Western Pennsylvania is now accepting nominations for the 2011 Awards of Distinction Event. The Awards of Distinction recognizes outstanding community leaders and creates a forum to highlight Girl Scouts Western Pennsylvania’s message and mission. Exceptional females will be honored in two categories: Woman of Distinction and Girl of Distinction.
A successful nominee:
- Is active in her community or educational institution, having made significant impact;
- Is committed to supporting local community groups and non-profit organizations;
- Exhibits strong leadership efforts which inspire others.
Nominations are due by 4 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 25, 2011. Learn more and submit your nomination here. Girl of Distinction nominees, need not be registered Girl Scouts. Girl Scouts Western Pennsylvania board members and staff are not eligible to be recognized through the Awards of Distinction.
The 2011 Awards of Distinction Luncheon will be held on Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at the Westin Convention Center Pittsburgh.
Proceeds from the event enable Girl Scouts Western Pennsylvania to offer remarkable opportunities for girls of all ages to develop positive values so that they can contribute to society as leaders, thinkers and responsible citizens.
