Girl Scouts Western Pennsylvania (GSWPA) is sponsoring programming the weekend of October 22-24, as part of the Dove Self-Esteem Weekend, whose purpose is to encourage women and girls to create a world in which beauty is a source of confidence, not anxiety.
GSWPA Hosts Power-Up Weekend at Family First Sports Park
Erie, PA: Join Girl Scouts Western Pennsylvania (GSWPA) for a day, an overnight or a weekend full of fun at Family First Sports Park! GSWPA’s Power-Up weekend is open to girls in grades K-12 and their families. Siblings (pre-K girls and brothers) will enjoy age-appropriate programming and registered Girl Scout adults have a variety of enrichment sessions to choose from. This weekend-long event runs Oct. 8 – 10, 2010 with day, overnight and weekend options. Register by Sept. 30 and receive $15 off the price of admission.

Girl Scouts Unveils New Brand Initiatives

Girl Scouts Collect More Than 1600 Pounds of Clothing in Summer Clothing Drive
Girl Scouts Western Pennsylvania (GSWPA) and Goodwill Industries joined forces to conduct a summer-long clothing drive at Camp Conshatawba, Camp Redwing, Camp Singing Hills and Camp Skymeadow. Girl Scouts were encouraged to collect gently used clothing from family and friends, package the items and bring the donations to camp.
Who Says Science is Just for Boys?
Girl Scouts Western Pennsylvania (GSWPA) announces the addition of LEGO Robotics to its Special Initiatives program offerings. Working with the Carnegie Mellon Robotics Academy, this series will offer girls the opportunity to participate in FIRST LEGO League competitions held in December at the National Robotics and Engineering Center.
GSWPA Accepting Nominations for Board of Directors
Girl Scouts Western Pennsylvania’s (GSWPA) Board Development Committee is pleased to announce that they are currently accepting nominations for positions on the Board of Directors from candidates in Clearfield, McKean, Greene, Fayette, Washington, Bedford and Somerset Counties. Board member positions are available in three-year terms.
Girl Scout Day at PNC Park
Girl Scouts and their families are invited to cheer on the Pittsburgh Pirates as they take on the Houston Astros at PNC Park on Sunday, Sept. 26 at 1:35 p.m. All Girl Scouts in attendance will receive a Pittsburgh Pirates Girl Scout Patch.

Canonsburg, PA: Girl Scouts Western Pennsylvania will host a Leadership Breakfast Seminar on Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2010 at the Hilton Garden Inn at Southpointe, 1000 Corporate Drive, Canonsburg, PA. Registration begins at 7:45 a.m., with the program running from 8-9:30 a.m.
