Online Trainings, Webinars and Self-Study Guides
As a service to our volunteers, select council trainings are available via online and webinar. These are indicated in the descriptions of each training -- posted on the Volunteer Event Calendar.
NEW! Volunteer Support Webinars
Hear from experts about what works and share your ideas. This is a brand new support opportunity for volunteers to get your questions answered. Each webinar is an opportunity to learn more about a specific topic or theme.
Register using our online registration site. After you are registered for the webinar, you will receive log in details about one week before your scheduled webinar. Technology used to conduct this webinar will be “GoToWebinar,” which gives you the option to participate with your computer or simply with your phone. Sessions will last no more than one hour and spots are limited.

Girl Scouts Western Pennsylvania offers these Self-Study Guides:
- Outdoor 101 – to complete coursework related to providing girls with outdoor experiences, this workbook can be used with additional materials. Prerequisite: Girl Scouting 101
- Girl Scouts Western Pennsylvania Delegate Self-Study Guide is available for those members 14 years and older who have been selected to serve as council delegates.
Girl Scouting 101
Girl Scouting 101 is the first close-up view of the Girl Scout organization for all new volunteers. This engaging online session sets the foundation for:
- Introduction and Welcome — provide instructions on how to navigate the site
- About Girl Scouts — presents Girl Scout Mission, Promise and Law, history, and membership requirements
- Girl Scout Pathways — illustrates various ways that members participate
- Program — the Girl Scout Leadership Experience and the three keys to leadership: discover - connect - take action, and the three processes: girl-led, learning by doing, cooperative learning
- Support for Volunteers — provides resources and support that is available for volunteers and be thanked
