Girl Scouts & the Magic of Disney
When GSWPA Girl Scouts complete all of the mini-challenges in the
Your Way to Broadway Challenge, she'll be entered for the chance to
attend a Girl Scouts & the Magic of Disney online event.
For Daisies, Brownies, and Juniors:
GIRL SCOUTS AND THE ART OF STORYTELLING (Virtual
Experience)
Come learn what it takes to bring a story from the
silver screen to Broadway! This 60 to 90-minute webinar-style workshop
will take a look at storytelling and how shows are transformed from
film to stage, highlighting the amazing women that are part of its
development journey.
Explore iconic Disney characters
such as Elsa and adventurous settings like Pride Rock and stretch your
theatrical imagination! Participating Girl Scouts will receive one
Disney on Broadway merchandise item and a Disney Girl Scout
patch.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
- Explore storytelling from Disney’s Hit Broadway Musicals
- Understand how artists adapt a story from one medium to
another
- Experiment with telling your own story
Hear from women in various roles that bring Disney musicals to
life!
For Cadettes, Seniors & Ambassadors:
GIRL SCOUTS AND THE BUSINESS OF BROADWAY (Virtual Experience)
Come learn about the world of Broadway and hear from some of the
amazing women that help it run. This 90-minute webinar-style workshop
will take a look at the business of show business and peek behind the
curtain as we track the journey of a Disney on Broadway production
from creative idea to opening night. Participating Girl Scouts will
receive one Disney on Broadway merchandise item and a Disney Girl
Scout patch.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
- Examine the different jobs that help bring a Broadway show to
life.
- Hear from women in various roles at Disney Theatrical
Productions.
