Girl Scouts Western Pennsylvania (GSWPA) presents the 5th annual Lake Erie Duathlon Sunday, August 4, 2019 at Presque Isle State Park, Erie.

This unique race format consists of a 5K run, followed by a 20K bike, then another 5K run. The bike route is one entire loop of the park. The race starts at 7 a.m. on Presque Isle’s Beach 11.

Athletes can compete as an individual or as a two-person team consisting of one runner and one cyclist. Each entrant receives a high-quality race premium, water bottle, coupons from DICK’S Sporting Goods, and a box of Girl Scout Cookies. Every finisher receives a medal.

Post-race refreshments include a variety of Girl Scout Cookies.

Overall female and male winners and first place winners in every age group will each receive a $50 bonus certificate to DICK’S Sporting Goods. For winning relay teams, each person receives a $20 bonus certificate. Top finishers also receive awards created by local Girl Scouts.

All proceeds benefit GSWPA—the premier local leadership organization for girls. The Lake Erie Duathlon is presented by PNC Bank and further sponsored by GEICO, UPMC | UPMC Health Plan, DICK'S Sporting Goods, Times Publishing Company, and Hammer Nutrition.
