About 25 minutes south of Erie and less than a two-hour drive from Pittsburgh, Camp Hawthorne Ridge boasts more than 200 beautiful, wooded acres with hiking trails that lead all over camp, including down into the gorge
As age, skill, and weather permit, campers can practice archery skills, trek to the Gorge or Brownie Gorge, splish ‘n splash in the pool, create memorable crafts, and cook dinner over a fire.
Camp Hawthorne Ridge is a fun, economical place to stay for troops or families visiting the many area attractions including Presque Isle State Park and Waldameer Park, and Water World. The camp is a snowy wonderland in the winter with cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and sledding offered on the property.

No trip to camp is complete without visiting the Trading Post for all your camp swag! In addition to our in-person trading post, you can also visit our virtual Camp Trading Post to grab all your fun camp gear before heading to camp. Be sure to check back as we add new items. You can now use our virtual Camp Trading Post to set aside Girl Scout Bucks, Indie Girl Scout Program Rewards, or money for your Girl Scout to use at the in-person Trading Post while she is at summer camp!
