Calling all Cadettes! - As a Camp Redwing Program Aide, you'll develop your leadership skills, learn age-level communication techniques, and tips for planning and leading activities for younger Girl Scouts. Following your training you'll be able to help at day camp, service unit events, council-sponsored events, and more!
During Program Aide Foundations Training, you will learn the important skills needed to work with younger Girl Scouts. Program Aide Foundations Training will be provided on Monday and Tuesday at the day camp session you are attending.
Program Aide skills training will also be provided at the day camp session you are attending. During Program Aide Skills Training - you will put your foundations training to the test and gain valuable experience to prepare you for working with younger Girl Scouts. Program Aide candidates will gain hands-on experience with fire building, leading songs and games, Girl Scout safety, how to teach arts and crafts, and other skills required to be a successful Program Aide. Skills training will occur on Wednesday-Friday of each week.
Price for girl scout Cadettes who are not currently certified as a Program Aide is $200 for a week of day camp (Monday-Friday 9am-4pm) and includes the additional 1-night overnight on Thursday night at no extra cost. The additional $25 covers training and materials. Girl Scouts who complete the training and skills sessions will be awarded with the Cadette Girl Scout Program Aide pin and certificate at the end of their session.
Price for Girl Scout Cadettes who are currently certified as a Program Aide is $175 for a week of day camp (Monday-Friday 9am-4pm) and includes the additional 1-night overnight on Thursday night at no extra cost. Girl Scouts who are currently Program Aide certified will receive a Cadette Service Bar at the end of their session. Girl Scouts who fall into this category will not have to retake the Program Aide training sessions.
