Who's ready to feel the heat of the furnace in one of the hottest introductory experiences offered by our partners at Pittsburgh Glass Center as local artisans once again showcase and share their talents with Girl Scouts. You'll work with a local artist to transform molten glass into a colorful pumpkin you'll be proud to display all year long.

Choose your favorite colors and try glassblowing to expand the molten material with your breath.

Each participant will end with a colorful glass pumpkin of their own creation that will be ready to be picked up five days after the activity. Finished pieces can be mailed for an additional cost if participants are unable to pick them up in person. All participants receive a glass-working patch.

Participants can also observe professional glass blowing demonstrations as well as explore Pittsburgh Glass Center's open gallery and studios through a self-guided tour. Every girl needs to attend with an adult. Adults are welcome to register and participate in the class.

Want to keep the fun going? PGC will also be offering TWO additional experiences this fall on the same day where participants can choose to create fused glass suncatchers (all ages) or beautiful sculpted flowers (limited space available, only for Juniors and up). Participants who register for two or more events will receive a discount. Check out "Suncatcher Sunday at Pittsburgh Glass Center" or "Glassy Gals Sculpted Flowers at Pittsburgh Glass Center" on the GSWPA Activities Page for more information about those events.

***Adult supervision for the duration of the event is required. Girls must attend with a parent/guardian or troop leaders (following ratio). No tagalongs permitted.***
