Spark your curiosity and step into a world of hands on exploration at
our STEM Day Open Hours. This exciting event invites Girl Scouts of
every age level to discover the power of STEM in a welcoming, girl
centered environment designed for experimentation and
creativity.
Who's invited?
All Girl Scouts are
welcome, from Daisies through Ambassadors. Members and non members may
attend. Adult supervision for the duration of the event is required.
Girls must come in ratio as a troop or with a caregiver. All attending
adults must be registered. This allows us to confirm ample space and
supervision in advance of the event.
Who is running the
event?
This event is hosted by Girl Scouts Western Pennsylvania
staff and volunteers inside the Edinboro Activity Center and STEM
Lab.
What will participants be doing at the event?
Girls will explore a variety of STEM stations where they can build,
test, investigate, and create. Activities may include engineering
challenges, simple coding, hands on science experiments, and more.
Adults will observe and support their Girl Scouts throughout this open
house style program.
Badge/Patch/Award/Certification
All participating Girl Scouts
will receive a STEM Day Fun Patch, included with the program
cost.
Anything else included?
All supplies and
materials needed for the activities are provided.
Any
prerequisites?
No prerequisites. All girls are welcome
regardless of previous STEM experience.
Anything
participants need to bring?
Girls should wear comfortable
clothes and shoes. Bringing a water bottle is recommended.
