In recognition of the value girl members gain from the Girl Scout Leadership Experience and the need to increase resources to deliver our Movement strategy, GSUSA's National Board is proposing an increase in membership dues, effective for Membership Year 2026.
Details of the Membership Dues Proposal
- For girl memberships, the National Board of Girl Scouts USA recommends an increase in annual membership dues to $85, phased in over three years: $68 (2026), $77 (2027), and $85 (2028).
- A portion of this increase would be shared back with councils to help support financial assistance for Girl Scouts.
- For adult memberships, the National Board of Girl Scouts USA is recommending a $45 membership fee, with no portion going to councils.
Results of the Special 57th National Council Session held on October 19, 2024
- The national delegation approved an annual dues increase to $45 in 2026 and $65 in 2027 for girl memberships.
- The national delegation approved an annual dues increase to $30 for adult memberships in 2026.

Membership Dues Proposal Timeline
- July 2024: Input sessions with national delegates
- September 24-October 9, 2024: Membership Dues Proposal presented by national delegates to Girl Scouts Western Pennsylvania volunteers and members at the Volunteer Engagement Roundtable and Fall Town Hall meetings.
- October 19, 2024: Formal call to meeting for the Special 57th National Council Session where national delegates will discuss and vote on increasing membership dues.
