Stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) is a fun and active water adventure that helps Girl Scouts build balance, confidence, and outdoor skills. Girls learn how to safely use a paddleboard, including how to stand, paddle, steer, and get back on the board if they fall in. With guidance, they practice proper techniques while exploring lakes, rivers, or calm coastal waters. This activity encourages strength, coordination, and perseverance, while also promoting water safety and awareness. Girl Scouts learn how to use life jackets, understand weather and water conditions, and respect the natural environment. Paddleboarding can be both relaxing and challenging, giving girls the chance to enjoy nature from a new perspective while working together and supporting one another. Through stand-up paddleboarding, Girl Scouts gain confidence, try something new, and create lasting memories on the water.
