All of our Girl Scout cooking badge programs include a healthier menu
that we use as an example to teach how we can fuel our bodies.
We cover kitchen safety around hand washing and contamination, knife
and sharps safety with some basic cutting technique, and how to safety
work with kitchen equipment and food of different temperatures.
Each of our events also give girls the opportunity to practice
measuring, mixing, reading recipes, and learning about potentially
unfamiliar ingredients. We typically make 3-4 recipes from start to
finish during our events with time at the end to sample everything
we've made.
Girl Scouts will earn and receive their Simple Meals
Badge.
Adult supervision for the duration of the event is
required. Girls must come in ratio as a troop or with a caregiver. No
tagalongs permitted.
