Girl Scouts Western Pennsylvania Chief Executive Officer Patricia A. Burkart has announced her retirement, effective this June.
Burkart was named CEO in 2007, when the council was formed through a merger of five western Pennsylvania councils—including Keystone Tall Trees, where she previously served as CEO.
Burkart has been a dedicated and passionate leader in the Girl Scout movement for 23 years. Prior to her executive roles, she served in a variety of capacities in social services supporting individuals with special needs.
“I am grateful for Pat’s leadership and her commitment to the Girl Scout mission,” said Nicole King Yohe, chair of the board of directors. “Her impact isn’t measured in years, but in the tens of thousands of girls who experienced the amazing benefits of Girl Scouting during her tenure. Girls were her top priority in every strategy and decision.”
The board of directors will conduct a national search for her successor.
