Girl Scouts Outdoor Awards 2019-2020

No Man's Land Virtual Film Festival 10-10-20

Join Girl Scouts Western Pennsylvania as we embark on an ultimate virtual adventure – the No Man’s Land Film Festival. The No Man’s Land Film Festival proves that girls and women carry a tremendous intensity, passion, grit, genius and drive in the outdoors and beyond. The goal of this festival is to connect like-minded individuals who are action-oriented and have a shared vision of gender equality and above all, love adventure. This event will include a panel from women in adventure who are doing incredible things to answer questions submitted by Girl Scouts, time spent with our Camp Directors, trivia, and so much more! Camp Creepy is here to give you a scary good time with our monster-packed virtual weekend! Join us Friday, October 23rd and Saturday, October 24th for a Virtual Camp-Out with our GSWPA Camp Team. Activities include camping basics, a costume contest, spooky stories, campfire cooking, arts & crafts, STEM activities, pumpkin painting/carving, and so much more! REGISTRATION DEADLINE: 10-16-20

Comic Book Club October 10-29-20

Join us for our first ever Comic Book Club! This is a new way for Girl Scouts to come together and share their love of great girl centered stories and some awesome art! Each month we'll pick a new comic to read together and then discuss via Zoom! Girls will receive the comic in the mail as well as a custom GSWPA Comic Book Club patch. Attend more than one club meeting and you'll get a bumper patch to add on. Registration closes early so we have plenty of time to get the comic out to so make sure you sign up fast. Spots are limited! Our first comic book is Lumberjanes: Beware the Kitten Holy. This great tongue in cheek take on a female scouting organization is also full of friendship, camp adventures, and the supernatural. Perfect for the lead up to Halloween! Girl Scouts in the Outdoors 11-01-20

Ready to explore fun and creative ways to appreciate nature? Join us at beautiful Cooks Forest State Park where we will explore the trails while participating in a scavenger hunt. Practice making art from nature, and learn how to build a campfire. A fun patch is included. Want to share this program with a friend new to Girl Scouts? If you are bringing a friend who is not currently a Girl Scout, make sure they register as well so you can receive a bonus fun patch at the event. Girls must attend with a parent/guardian or troop. There is no adult fee for members, but adult advanced registration is required. REGISTRATION DEADLINE: 10-26-20

Book Club: Meet the Author Edition 11-05-20

Join us for a Book Club! This is a new way for Girl Scouts to come together and share their love of reading. This can be a sequence to the Outdoor Book Club or a stand-alone activity. Each quarter, (4 times a year) we'll pick a new book to read together and then discuss via Zoom. Registration closes early so we have plenty of time to get the book out, so make sure you sign up fast. Spots are limited! Our first book is Dancing Daisies written by Sara Pyszka. Sara is a local author from Pittsburgh. Dancing Daisies scene is summer camp and focuses on friendship, relationships, abilities, and disabilities. you will get the zoom link after you submit your internet pledge. REGISTRATION DEADLINE: 09-24-20

Registration Confirmation

You'll see a detailed receipt on your screen upon completion of the registration process. This receipt is your activity registration confirmation. If you do not see a detailed receipt, you have not fully completed the registration process. If this happens to you, please contact Customer Care at customercare@gswpa.org for assistance. For some council activities, you will receive a confirmation letter via email with more activity information.

To view a list of your current activity registrations, log in to your MyGS and click MyActivities. Clicking the information icon next to each activity will provide you additional information.

Refunds & Cancellations

Refunds will be given when:

  • GSWPA cancels council activity
  • Financial Assistance is not awarded and the registrant has made a partial payment
  • Registrant cancels their registration by the posted registration deadline for programs/training
  • Registrant cancels their registration within two weeks of their summer camp start date 

Refund requests submitted after these deadlines will be considered when a registrant cancels due to illness, family illness, or family emergency and approved by Council.

Refunds will NOT be given for deposits, late arrivals, early departures, no shows, or participants who leave due to behavior or due to dissatisfaction. Financial Aid will not be refunded to members upon cancellation of activity. 

Deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Refunds could take up to 30 days to process.  

Note: If you want to transfer your registration to another member, please use the Transfer Request Form

Transfers

If you can’t attend a council activity for which you registered and for which you paid fully, you can request that the registration be transferred to another active member of Girl Scouts Western Pennsylvania. To make this request, complete the Transfer Registration Request form. Requests must be submitted at least 3 business days before the council activity. Note: Financial Aid cannot be transferred.

Late Registration and Late Payment

To ensure that we have the proper amount of supplies and adult supervision available, we do not allow registrations to be processed after the posted registration deadline with the exception of waitlist registrations. Registrants who are on a waitlist will have their registration processed if a spot opens up after the registration deadline. The registration deadline that is listed with the council activity is the last date that you can register for the council activity.

If you have not paid in full by the registration deadline, your registration may be cancelled and partial payment may not be refunded.
