Journey-Palooza: It's Your Planet, Love It! 09-25-21

MEMBERSHIP REQUIRED

Date: Sat Sep 25, 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM EDT

Join us for our another great year of Journey-Palooza! This year's theme is It's Your Planet, Love It! Girls will get hands on with their age level and cover topics like water, air, energy, food sustainability, and environmental justice! Saturday will include sessions for Brownies, Juniors, and Cadettes. Come out and enjoy a great day at camp full of journey activities as classic camp fun! This year's format will be a little different with a single day at camp and a follow up virtual session to help plan your Take Action project. A morning and afternoon snack with be provided and girls are asked to bring a brown bag lunch. Girls will receive their Journey Award and a custom Journey-palooza patch.

All girls must attend with a troop or parent/guardian. All adults must be approved volunteers.

For groups that are traveling from a distance and want to stay overnight at camp, you can reserve a tent space at an additional charge of $11 per tent (each tent can sleep up to 4). To reserve tents for your group, please call Customer Care at 1-800-248-3355.

Small Craft Safety Training: Stand Up Paddleboarding 09-25-21

Looking for something new to do with your Girl Scouts? Join our Outdoor Program Specialist, Summer, to get trained in Standup Paddleboarding (SUP)! This training will run on Saturday September 25th at Camp Skymeadow, form 11AM-3PM. You will learn all the basics to be able to take Girl Scouts out on flat and/or slow-moving water. Some topics include safety, site preparation, teaching, and on water skills and rescues.

Join our Outdoor team, to get trained in Canoe/Kayak. This training will run on Saturday, October 2nd at Camp Redwing from 1-4pm. You will learn all the basics to be able to take Girl Scouts out on flat and/or slow-moving water. Some topics include safety, site preparation, teaching, and on water skills and rescues. Camp Creepy Redwing 10-09-21

Camp Creepy Hawthorne Ridge 10-16-21

Join us for Camp Creepy! Bringing back this tradition as you and your Girl Scout explore camp with ghouls, gobblins, princesses and unicorns. Spooky activities will be set up around camp following a trail. Stop by booths for crafts and activities, take a trip spooky trip to the gorge, complete fun tasks, learn scary facts and make new friends.

Fall Biking Series: The Ghost Town Trail 10-23-21

Date: Sat Oct 23, 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM EDT

Grab that Halloween costume and get your bike in gear! October’s Halloween-inspired bike ride will be on the Ghost Town Trail. Conveniently located less than ten miles from Camp Conshatawba, this ride is a great complementary activity to the Camp Creepy event later this evening. Costumes are optional (but lots of fun) as you cruise down this beautiful bike trail. Come as a troop, a family, or bring a friend—this action-packed afternoon has activities for everybody. Make crafts, learn bike safety with the local fire department, and enjoy riding a beautiful railroad turned into a bike trail.

This ride will be self-paced, allowing you and your troop or family to make goals and set your own pace to achieve them. Register for each ride individually or come to all three events. Friends and family are all welcome, but please note that all participants need to register to participate. All youth will get a custom fun patch.

Camp Creepy Conshatawba 10-23-21

Camp Chef 11-07-21

MEMBERSHIP REQUIRED

Sharpen your knife skills and come hungry, because this event is all about food! We will be refining out recipes around the campfire as we practice making (and eating) a variety of foods using different methods of campfire cooking. All participants will earn a fun patch.

Climbing Crew 11-07-21

MEMBERSHIP REQUIRED

This activity is all about taking your adventures to new heights and accepting new challenges. Juniors and Cadettes will earn their Snow and Climbing Adventure badge as we learn all things climbing-- skills on the climbing tower at Conshatawba, the equipment used, and how to set up the climbing wall. Additionally, we will spend time on the low ropes course, completing the various challenges together. Physical badges are included.

5k Turkey Trot/ Stuffed Brunch 11-13-21 and/or 11-20-21

Date: Sat Nov 13, 9:00 AM - Sat Nov 20, 4:00 PM EST

Grab those running shoes and join us at Camp Skymeadow and Camp Hawthorne Ridge for our first GSWPA Turkey Trot 5k series! Participants can choose to walk, run, hop or skip their way through the beautiful camp grounds with their group. Enjoy a “stuffed” brunch afterwards and have some fun with some fall themed contests.

Zine Fest 11-20-21

Activism through art is what this activity is all about. Learn about important social issues while making your own zine to tell the world what you think. Zines are handmade magazines that come in all shapes and sizes, ranging from comics to explorations of important issues. Create your own zine using drawing, collage, and writing to tell the world what’s on your mind. If you have something you’re passionate about – now is your time to express it! All Cadettes will earn the Bookmaking badge and Seniors will earn the Collage badge, both of which are included. You can also earn an additional badge of your choice: Eating For You (Junior), Voices for Animals and/or Women’s Health (Senior), Policy Making and/or Eco Advocate (Ambassador).

Help with Registering
  • Scroll through the activities listings to find an activity or event that interests your girl.
  • Use the Advanced Search option to seach by location, program level, or date.
  • When searching for virtual events, use zip code 15212 to view all our virtual event offerings. To search for virtual events designed for your girl, click on Filter from the search results page and add a grade level.
  • Once you find an activity or event that interests you, click the Register Now button and sign in to your Member Community. 
  • Select the members of your household or troop you want to register. Enter payment information and confirm your registration. 
  • Save or print your receipt from the Confirmation page. You can also click on My Activities in the top menu of your Member Community to view activies with completed registration and view additional details.

Registration Confirmation

You'll see a detailed receipt on your screen upon completion of the registration process. This receipt is your activity registration confirmation. If you do not see a detailed receipt, you have not fully completed the registration process. If this happens to you, please contact Customer Care at customercare@gswpa.org for assistance. For some council activities, you will receive a confirmation letter via email with more activity information.

To view a list of your current activity registrations, log in to your MyGS and click MyActivities. Clicking the information icon next to each activity will provide you additional information.

Refunds & Cancellations

Summer camp 2021: Click here to view our camp refund and cancellation policy.

All other Activities: Refunds will be given when:

  • GSWPA cancels council activity
  • Financial Assistance is not awarded and the registrant has made a partial payment
  • Registrant cancels their registration by the posted registration deadline for programs/training
  • Registrant cancels their registration within two weeks of their summer camp start date 

Refund requests submitted after these deadlines will be considered when a registrant cancels due to illness, family illness, or family emergency and approved by Council.

Refunds will NOT be given for deposits, late arrivals, early departures, no shows, or participants who leave due to behavior or due to dissatisfaction. Financial Aid will not be refunded to members upon cancellation of activity. 

Deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Refunds could take up to 30 days to process.  

Note: If you want to transfer your registration to another member, please use the Transfer Request Form

Transfers

If you can’t attend a council activity for which you registered and for which you paid fully, you can request that the registration be transferred to another active member of Girl Scouts Western Pennsylvania. To make this request, complete the Transfer Registration Request form. Requests must be submitted at least 3 business days before the council activity. Note: Financial Aid cannot be transferred.

Late Registration and Late Payment

To ensure that we have the proper amount of supplies and adult supervision available, we do not allow registrations to be processed after the posted registration deadline with the exception of waitlist registrations. Registrants who are on a waitlist will have their registration processed if a spot opens up after the registration deadline. The registration deadline that is listed with the council activity is the last date that you can register for the council activity.

If you have not paid in full by the registration deadline, your registration may be cancelled and partial payment may not be refunded.
