Available exclusively for Girl Scouts Western Pennsylvania members, the Girl Scout Discovery Pack is a self-paced activity box full of Girl Scout fun and goodies delivered to your doorstep. Each box will have a specific theme and include three to four hands-on challenges with an age-specific guide and other fun items. Please see the activity listing for more details and cost.

Choose your own adventure at a time that works best for your troop. A Program Pro is a business or group in your community that offers amazing programs and benefits just for Girl Scouts. While these programs aren’t run by council staff, our Program Pros who offer them may offer discounts or relate their program to Girl Scout badges. Plus, they meet all safety requirements. Program Pros take all questions directly about the event—as well as registrations. Be sure to check back often as this list will be updated quarterly.

Humane Helpers: Troops who are interested in making a difference in the lives of animals are invited to become Humane Helpers for Animal Friends. Girls can choose from a variety of ways to contribute to the shelter dogs, cats, and rabbits, including organizing community supply drives, crafting enrichment toys for bunnies and kitties, or making blankets for dogs. Troops can request a special donation drop-off experience at the shelter in acknowledgment of their service.

You're invited to a fun-filled music class that the whole troop or family can enjoy! If you are new to Children's Music Academy of Greater Pittsburgh, you may be wondering what we are all about. We invite you to join us for a music class so that you can experience CMA for yourself. We encourage you to come as a troop or a family! We are a parent participation program and request that an adult attends with the child. Parent involvement encourages musical togetherness and play and is key to a child’s musical growth! The small-group setting of CMA classes is fun and supportive and naturally draws children into the learning activities. Activities are fast-paced, incorporating games, stories, songs, dances, and ensemble playing, all within a nurturing and holistic environment. They may involve a variety of musical instruments including keyboard, recorder, glockenspiel, guitar, and various percussion instruments. Our curriculum fosters the development of memory, math, creative, self-discipline, and leadership skills. Girl Scouts can earn their Musician badge.

Climb aboard the Armstrong Conservation District's traveling exhibit, the MED (Mobile Environmental Display), modeled after the Carnegie Science Center’s popular "H2Oh! Why Our Rivers Matter" exhibit. Visitors to the MED will be able to interact with 10 displays for hands-on scientific enrichment. With adult supervision and transportation, troops can also go on a geocaching adventure and explore the ACD W.A.T.E.R GeoTrail! As girls find each cache on the trail, they write down the code word on the corresponding line on the map to receive their very own limited edition GeoCoin. Troops can also test their decomposition knowledge with the Litter IQ Board and engage in environmental lessons and discussions about how long our trash will be around, thus inspiring them to help keep Pennsylvania beautiful.
